Black Voters Matter

Shaw University is pleased to have been one of the few selected HBCU’s to participate in the Black Voters Matter HBCU GOTV Bus Tour.  We were the last stop on the tour and it’s obvious they saved the best for last!!  With the band marching in, the choir performing, and a delicious food truck, students were engaged listening to our speakers and registering to vote!

Constitution Day

Every year, Shaw University celebrates Constitution Day.  This year, our theme was Protest or Insurrection?  Criminalizing Protesters – Is It Constitutional?  Students engaged in a healthy discussion around the social and political misperceptions surrounding peaceful protests and the actions that have been taken by states to infringe on this right.  The panel discussion was led by student Jameliah Pinder, with students John Angrilla, Christian Jacques, Mallory Brown, and Jonathan Lorza providing excellent commentary and insights.
